Annisha and Jamie certainly know how to throw a Compton Verney wedding!

Right from the start with the morning preparations at onsite Bridal Suites in the Coach House, through to the dancing on the lawn in the evening, everything turned out perfect, relaxed, and most importantly, fun for everyone.

As mentioned, I started with Annisha’s preparations in the Bridal Suite in the Coach House, just a short walk from the ceremony at the Chapel. For the preparations, the intimate lighting in the main suite room was great for capturing, moody, atmospheric images as Annisha got ready. As usual, with no posing or interfering with the proceedings.

The short walk to the Chapel, especially on a sunny day, is a lovely way to enter married life, with all your family by your side, walking through glorious countryside.

Having everything onsite and just a short walk away, makes Compton Verney an ideal all-inclusive wedding venue. So after the ceremony, I followed the bride and groom down the path to the open lawn area where their drinks reception was waiting for them.

This area over looks the nearby gentle watercourse that runs through the estate, which then turns in the River Dene before joining the Avon further down stream.

This makes for a perfect location during a summer’s wedding to relax and allow your guests to wander around exploring what the region has to offer, while I informally capture your story as guests relax under the gentle awning of the resident marquee.

Compton Verney is actually a nationally accredited art galley and contains some stunning works of art. So as Annisha and Jamie walked through to their wedding reception, they past some works of art that had to be featured in their images.

Adam Hall was used for their wedding breakfast and speeches.

What I love about shooting in the Adam Hall is the quality of the natural light. Because of being a documentary photographer, my style is mainly to shoot inconspicuously, without interrupting or directing people, as everyone tends to relax when they’re not aware of the camera. But if the lighting required flash, which Adam Hall doesn’t, the constant pop, pop, pop of my flash would be too invasive, and interrupt any tender moments before me.

The icing on the cake of this Compton Verney wedding celebration, was the outdoor evening reception.

Annisha and Jamie, cut their cake here. They did their first dance here. The guests had entertainment and created their own there.

To top it all off, they had a fireworks display to end the perfect wedding celebration.

Annisha’s Answer: “Seeing this picture takes me back to my favourite memory of the day. The feeling of happiness, relief and being a little overwhelmed after the ceremony. Those feelings are all captured perfectly in this image.

Jamie’s Answer: “We were all having so much fun in this picture. But mostly I really love how the blue and pink lighting was captured as part of the back drop.
