As a Shustoke Barn wedding photographer who lives very near, I love working at this 18th century red-brick barn venue that’s set around a private courtyard, in the heart of the rural Warwickshire scenery.

Getting Ready in the Morning

Although there’s no on-site preparation rooms, there are plenty of nearby locations to get ready.

The nearest, and it seems most popular, I’ve worked at is the The Granary at Dovehouse Farm, which is just 2.7 miles away or 7 mins by car. This spacious 3 bedroom accommodation, in it’s own secure courtyard, is an ideal location to get your day started.

Wedding Ceremony

This exclusive-use wedding venue hosts can host your civil ceremony in a timber barn with romantic lighting, oak beams, flagstone floors and high ceiling. The natural light mixes beautifully to produce a very rustic ambience ideal for an intimate wedding ceremony.

This backs onto a private courtyard where guests can gather among the beautiful olive trees watching the chefs cook up a barbecue banquet.

The grill can cook 6 whole lambs at one time! Giving you plenty of food for your hungry guests!!

Before your wedding breakfast, why not go for a gentle stroll in the grounds to work up an appetite for your meal?

Shustoke Barn Wedding Breakfast

The seating capacity for the wedding breakfast is 140. There is an open-kitchen area with a glass wall to witness your food being prepared, and you can light up the room with fairy lights and candles.

The massive gothic wooden and glass arched doors are a gorgeous backdrop for stunning photos.

Shustoke Barn Evening Wedding Reception

For your evening reception, the maximum capacity is 200, while in the courtyard there are fire pits for essential late night fun to end your perfect Shustoke Barn wedding reception.

The barn has underfloor heating to bring a warm atmosphere to the occasion on chilly evenings.

The dance floor area has colour changing LED up lighters to further add to the romantic atmosphere.

Outside in the courtyard and grounds there are spectacular hanging festoon lights in the trees, alongside the wheat field which is near to the barns and creates some stunning, romantic, nighttime photography.

What is the access time to and from the venue?

From 9.00am start time to 1am finish.

If you’re still undecided if you’d like to book a Shustoke Barn wedding photographer, here’s another wedding I covered:

Duncan and Lacey came through a recommendation and I was stoked when they said they wanted to book me as their Shustoke Barn wedding photographer. as I love shooting in rustic barn-like locations.

The Wedding Day

It was lovely to meet up again with so many friends from previous weddings I’d shot, and it made for a fun day.

I started in the morning as usual with Lacey’s preparations just down the road from Shustoke. It was a lovely emotional morning as gifts and memories were exchanged, as you’ll see from the images below.

Then I headed off to photograph the nervous Duncan with his men before the ceremony started.

This is why I love a documentary approach. That image of Duncan before the ceremony tell a better story than him smiling at the camera. Here you see an understandably nervous groom. The memories associated with that image preserves the real emotions at the start of the day.

Even the speeches were an emotional affair as family and friends gave a few words while the tissues were passed around.

At the end of the day they certainly know how to party as they finally relaxed and let their hair down after a wonderful day.
