The Plough and Harrow Hotel: A Perfect Wedding Venue

This west midlands based Best Western Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in the city of Birmingham and has many unique features for a Birmingham wedding venue. There’s even the option to have the exclusive use of the hotel for your wedding.

It is situated between Birmingham Botanical Gardens and The National Indoor Arena, and boasts of original redbrick and Victorian period features.

The hotel is set in its own grounds, providing a peaceful location for your wedding reception.

You can choose to have the exclusive use of the entire hotel for your wedding.

The hotel features a beautiful baby grand piano in the lounge area to welcome your guests.

Wedding Venue Options:

The Plough and Harrow Hotel is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies in The Terrace Room or in the Garden.

You can hire a Marquee for up to 150 guests with a dance floor on the lawn area, which has easy access to the main hotel and faces the elegant Victorian Terrace.

The Ornate Terrace Room:

The ornate Terrace Room has a spacious terrace area and patio with views over the garden.

This space can host up to 100 guests for a wedding breakfast and up to 150 for an evening reception.

Wedding Packages:

The hotel offers two wedding packages, namely the BBQ and Garden Wedding Package and the Traditional Vintage Afternoon Tea Wedding Package.

The BBQ and Garden Wedding Package:

This package is ideal for a less formal occasion, offering a relaxed atmosphere in the garden with a BBQ.

The breakfast can be served to the top table, and the guests are welcomed table by table and served buffet style. Alternatively, platters can be served to each individual table.

The Traditional Vintage Afternoon Tea Wedding Package:

This package is the ideal choice if you want a touch of tradition but with a twist.

You can make this very British occasion individual with your own personal touches, making this day memorable for you and your guests.

Accommodation:

The hotel has 44 spacious guest rooms over two floors, all traditionally decorated with King Size beds and modern conveniences.

The Victorian-style bathrooms have some rooms with garden views.

Function Rooms:

The hotel has six function rooms to cater for your wedding day.

Wedding Ceremonies

They’re licensed to hold both indoor and outdoor weddings. Their indoor ceremonies are held in the Terrace Suite which benefits from doors which open on to the terrace area for a spectacular view during your ceremony.

…while outdoor ceremonies can be held in their Garden area.

Wedding Breakfast

You can arrange different types of wedding receptions, from barbecues and buffets through to full a wedding breakfast which come as complete packages with everything included.

All you’ll need to add are your flowers to coordinate with your chosen colour scheme for your special day. 

Choose your type of wedding breakfast from a traditional wedding style, a vintage afternoon tea or a BBQ and hog roast set in the garden.

The stunning Terrace Room with balcony and patio overlooking the garden can accommodate up to 80 guests for the wedding breakfast and up to 150 for evening reception.

There are 44 lovely guest rooms which are tastefully decorated, some with garden views, all en-suite and some with Victorian features and character in the bathrooms.
