“All our guests commented on how great Clive was, and he made everyone feel very comfortable. We are thrilled with the final photos—they are so beautiful. Our family and friends love them too, saying Clive captured the day perfectly.”
When I arrived that sunny July morning, I could tell this was going to be a relaxed, heartfelt day with plenty of personal touches, as Jack made sure the wedding breakfast room was carefully prepared in the morning — the kind of wedding that makes you feel like a welcome guest, not just the photographer.
Abi and Jack’s wedding was all about celebrating with the people they love most, in a setting that felt like home. They’d gathered everyone in one place from morning through to night — no rushing, no fuss — just a lovely flow from start to finish.
A Calm Start to the Day
I began the day with Abi and her bridal party, where the mood was calm and joyful. Hair and makeup were done by the talented Lauren Wheeler, and there was an air of quiet excitement as everyone got ready. Abi looked stunning in her dress from The White Boutique in Leamington, and the bridal suite buzzed with anticipation (and a few happy nerves!).
Meanwhile, their dog — a very important member of the family — was looked after by the lovely team at Emily’s Canine Crew. She made her own appearance later on, of course. (You know I’m always up for including pets in the story of the day!)
A Ceremony Full of Feeling
By the time the ceremony began, the sun was beaming through the trees and everyone gathered to watch Abi and Jack make their vows. There was a real tenderness between them — the kind that doesn’t need words — and I kept my usual low profile to quietly document those moments as they naturally unfolded.
Afterwards, we took some relaxed group photos as requested, making sure to include the full wedding party, close family, and of course, their beloved pup. But for the most part, I let the day flow and captured the connections, conversations, and spontaneous moments in between.
Games, Laughter, and Golden Hour
One of the things I loved most was the garden games. Giant Jenga and Connect 4 kept guests entertained well into the afternoon — and let me tell you, it got competitive! Those games made for some brilliant photo opportunities, especially as people forgot the camera was even there.
Later in the evening, just as the sun started dipping, I knew it was the perfect time to steal Abi and Jack away for a few golden hour portraits. I adore using backlight in my photography — and knowing the best spot and timing for that glow (from shooting here many times before) helped me capture something extra special for them.
Dancefloor Energy and Magic Moments
Once the sun went down, the party really got going. The band — Don’t Stop Now — had everyone up on the dancefloor, and the energy in the room was buzzing. But that wasn’t the only surprise. A magician from Sylermagic moved through the crowd, leaving guests stunned and laughing in equal measure. Meanwhile, the Fotoauto photo booth gave everyone a chance to strike a silly pose or two (even the shy ones couldn’t resist).
Abi and Jack’s day was joyful, meaningful, and full of love — and I was honoured to be there to tell their story through images they can treasure for years to come.
