A few months ago I received an email to say I’d been nominated and shortlisted as a finalist in The Great British Wedding Awards for the category: Outstanding Wedding Photographer of the Year. To say I was shocked, overwhelmed and humbled to have been nominated, never mind shortlisted as a finalist, was an understatement.
So I want to offer a massive thank you for the nominations and votes that went in for the awards. It was lovely to be included with so many other highly talented photographers, many of who’s work I often admired.

A few months have now passed since that initial shortlist, and now I sit here even more shocked and proud to announce that the winners of the different categories have been announced, and I’ve been awarded the title: Outstanding Wedding Photographer of the Year!
This makes my 3rd Wedding Photographer of the Year award I’ve received over the years, to add to my other awards.
If I had to sum up how I feel about this latest award, first it’d be…
…shouting for joy at the news.
…plus…
…feeling on top of the world!
While it’s lovely to get some recognition from others in the industry for my photography, ultimately I’m fully aware that I need to always bringing my A-game to each and every wedding or pre-wedding shoot I cover, as I can’t rest on my laurels thinking I’ve made it.
But this is a nice boost to keep me on my toes, always striving to capture that “better image” which can encapsulate the emotions of each and every wedding celebration.
Better images for me. Better images for my clients. A win-win situation for all.

What is the Great British Wedding Awards?
Following the success of The Wedding Awards in Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Creative Oceanic were proud to present their inaugural awards for 2022: The Great British Wedding Awards.
They said “The Wedding Awards have become a staple event over the years and aim to showcase those who have shown great commitment, professionalism, creativity and care for their clients. Therefore we are so excited to host the inaugural Great British Wedding Awards 2022. We hope to provide a platform to thank and appreciate the work of the professionals who have pushed the boundaries in a difficult time and had the continuous support of their customers.”
