Being a destination wedding photographer is a great job! It means I get to visit beautiful destinations such as Cancun in Mexico, as I did for Claire and Ade’s wedding. They chose The Grand Riviera Princess Hotel for their wedding and reception.

As usual, my brief was to be the usual documentary wedding photographer, capturing their day in my natural, unposed, fly-on-the-wall style. This meant everyone could enjoy the company of their family and friends while enjoying the lovely tropical weather as much as possible.

I know I’ve been posting a lot of black and white images of late, but this wedding screamed out for colour!

But rather than me tell their story, here are few of my favourites from the day, plus their story in their own words.

BEFORE THE WEDDING

How Did You Meet?: Ade and I lived next door to each other after buying our flats in early 2009 – it was another 18 months before he finally asked me out for a drink

How Did He Propose?: On holiday in Mexico Ade arranged for a romantic meal on the beach where he popped the question and of course I said yes.  It was the same venue and restaurant we then picked as our wedding venue.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT

Claire’s Answer: Wow where to start when the whole day was a dream come true? Probably seeing Ade waiting for me at the end of the aisle, but the disco on the beach was incredible too!

Ade’s Answer: The evening party was fantastic, enjoying time with my new wife and family at the reception but also being with the boys in the morning with a glass of fizz and having the whole day in front of us to enjoy.

HONEYMOON

WEDDING ADVICE: Makes it yours, do what makes you happy and let the good times roll.
