“Ohhhhh wow!!!!! Our photos are AMAZING!!!!! We have re-visited them so many times.” – Ella and Jared
When Ella and Jared booked me as their Meriden Solihull wedding photographer, I knew I was in for a treat shooting this wedding celebration at The Manor Hotel.
Ella and Jared had already been married abroad and so this day was just about celebrating their wedding with all their family and friends, all of whom they couldn’t invite to their beach wedding.
To make the most of the day, the whole day was to be jam packed with fun and surprises from start to finish.
My day started with the usual pre-event preparations with Ella, her maids and 2 very special guests: her 2 chihuahuas who were to accompany her down the aisle.
The surprises started with her mom surprising her with a bouquet of her favourite flowers. Ella surprised Jared with a Lacoste watch, while a guest surprised Ella by bringing along their dog dressed in a white wedding dress!
Being able to document such memorable moments of fun and laughter was a joy, as there were so many moments after moments to capture for them, giving them a true record of the day.
Meriden Smoke Bomb Wedding
Smoke Bombs at weddings certainly add a different dimension to a wedding. There’s the drama they can add to the photos. There’s the added splash of colour to make for an alternative photograph.
So it was another surprise when, during the drinks receptions smoke bombs were brought out for some of their “formal” photos.
They’d booked me because my style is based on a more documentary approach, so they asked for informal, formal photos, which I was happy to do for them.
Something to keep in mind if you’re planning on using smoke bombs for your wedding: Treat them with respect and care, as they can be dangerous in the wrong hands, but beautiful when handled properly.
They’re considered a firework, so like sparklers they’re not allowed at every venue. Check first before buying. It’s recommended to have a trial run to know what to expect when setting them off.
Happily Ella and Jared knew what they were doing so only happy, fun memories were remembered.
Meriden Wedding Reception
Ella is a massive Kylie Minogue fan and loved the surprise Kylie cardboard cutout Jared bought for her to decorate the reception room.
Then during his speech he asked her to stand next to him as he announced to a shocked Ella that he’d booked a Kylie tribute act, Kylie on Show, to perform for her!
What a performance they gave to everyone’s delight!! It was a great way to get everyone on the dancefloor and in the mood for the party to follow.
With everyone in a good mood, the evening was finished off with sparklers and more dancing.
