A joyful day packed with tradition, games, and unexpected country music twists
Some weddings are so full of personality, they almost write their own story. Vibha and Sunil’s celebration was exactly that — vibrant, joyful, and a beautiful reflection of their relationship. From heartfelt traditions to cheeky games and ceilidh dancing, their day had everything… and then some!
Morning Moments & a Quiet First Look
The day began in classic laid-back fashion. While Sunil headed off for his turban tying, Vibha was surrounded by friends and family during her bridal prep. Before the formalities kicked in, the couple made time for a quick “first look” together — a lovely moment of calm before the day unfolded.
They then walked into their civil ceremony side by side, quietly united and smiling. That moment really set the tone for the whole day: meaningful, personal, and deeply connected.
A Thoughtful Surprise from Sunil’s Dad
Behind the scenes, one of the sweetest gestures of the day was a surprise gift arranged by Sunil’s dad. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, he quietly got in touch with me to help him prepare a custom silver coin memento featuring a photo of the couple.
He wanted to create something truly meaningful — a keepsake the couple could treasure forever. I was able to enhance the original image and prepare it in high resolution so it could be engraved beautifully onto the coin. The final result looked fantastic, and best of all, Vibha and Sunil had no idea it was coming!
A Burst of Colour, Ceremony & Celebration
Following the civil ceremony, guests were treated to a vibrant Hindu wedding — full of rich tradition, beautiful details, and so much emotion. There were smiles, a few happy tears, and plenty of moments that brought everyone together.
And the celebrations didn’t stop there. After a delicious feast (complete with speeches that had everyone in stitches), the party really began.
Wedding Games: Who’s Wearing the Trousers?
Before dancing, Vibha and Sunil brought in a fun twist — a few traditional and playful games to see who’d be “wearing the trousers” in the marriage.
A definite highlight? The classic Aeki Beki game — where coins are hidden in a bowl of milk and rose petals. The challenge? Whoever finds the most coins wins. The prize? Bragging rights and, allegedly, the power balance in the relationship!
It was all in good fun and had everyone laughing, cheering, and guessing who’ll be in charge in the household.
An Unexpected Twist for the Evening
You might expect an Indian wedding to close out with some Bhangra… but not this one.
Instead, Vibha and Sunil surprised their guests with a full-on country and western ceilidh — complete with live music and line dancing! It was an amazing way to end the night, full of energy and laughter, and a real reflection of their fun-loving personalities.
A Day to Remember
This was one of those weddings that had it all — rich traditions, bold colours, relaxed moments, and lots of love and laughter. It was such a joy to photograph it all naturally, without needing to stage or pose a thing. Just real moments as they happened.
Vibha and Sunil, thank you again for having me there to document it all. Here’s to many years of happiness — and never forgetting who actually won Aeki Beki! 😉
