As a Birmingham wedding photographer, I get to shoot in all areas of Birmingham.

This time it was the chance to photograph a wedding for Helena and James in the leafy suburbs of Moseley, Birmingham at a venue where I’m a recommended photographer, the Uffculme Centre.

High Field House Wedding Preparation

The day started with Helena getting ready at The High Field Town House, one of the lovely hotels just a stone’s throw from Birmingham city centre and which are great for getting ready in the morning with your own roll top bath to pamper yourself in the morning.

The hotel even host wedding receptions, and they can even accommodate your weary guests in one of their 12 rooms.

I headed off to meet James at the venue and in time for the bride’s arrival.

Moseley Wedding Venue

This venue is truly a hidden gem in Moseley and perfectly suited the relaxed vibe from Helena and James’ wedding.

As usual my brief was to document their wedding day with minimal interference, which I loved doing, as that allowed me to keep an eye out for those fleeting, storytelling moments that capture a person’s personality in an instant of time.

Moseley Speeches and Wedding Reception

Once the first formalities were over, then came the semi-formal speeches with the generous dose of funny and embarrassing stories, followed by the first dance and the the party started!

Wedding Review for a Moseley Wedding

“Dear Clive,

Jim and I both wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for capturing our day so perfectly. It is so valuable to us to be able to see all the special moments in our wedding, and we are so grateful that you were able to present it to us so beautifully. I cannot stop looking through all of the photos and our biggest challenge has been to pick a favourite to put on our wall because there are so many wonderful options that represent the magic of the day for us.

We were both so anxious about our photos as neither of us feel like we photograph well, but you made us both feel so beautiful, happy and in love in every shot. The photos of the guests are brilliant, especially the family shots, the laughter and our friend with all the ties!.

Your easy going approach and minimal direction really helped us feel present at our wedding, rather than at a photo shoot.

Thanks again for doing such an amazing job,

Helena and James Kirk”
