“He just got stuck in and was like part of the family…”

That’s how Steph described her experience — and honestly, I couldn’t ask for better words to sum up what I aim for at every wedding.

Steph and Kevin’s day was everything I love: relaxed, real, and packed with genuine emotion. With five kids between them, a buzzing bridal suite, and a no-fuss, no-posing approach, this was the kind of storytelling wedding photography I thrive on.

A Fun, Family-Filled Morning

The day kicked off with laughter and a delivery of McDonald’s breakfasts to the bridal suite — a perfect fuel-up for the busy morning ahead. Steph and her bridesmaids created such a fun atmosphere, full of banter, selfies, and excited chaos.

Steph kept things true to herself by pairing her dress with classic Adidas trainers — casual, fun-loving, and totally her. Meanwhile, the lads were getting ready across the courtyard, with the girls keeping a cheeky eye on them from above.

One standout moment from the morning: their son Roman proudly playing “Ring Security,” complete with a personalised pocket watch. It was a small touch, but full of meaning — and exactly the kind of detail I love capturing.

A Ceremony Full of Emotion

As Steph walked into the ceremony, a hush fell across the room. Kev wiped away a few quiet tears, and the bridesmaids weren’t far behind. Steph looked every inch the bride, and the emotion from both families was clear to see.

The ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, with all five of their children right at the heart of the day. Later, speeches brought more tears — especially when names of absent loved ones were mentioned — balanced beautifully with moments of laughter and joy.

Real Moments Over Posed Perfection

What I remember most is how natural everything felt. There was no need for staged photos or forced smiles — just real interactions, captured as they happened.

The kids were a dream to photograph — playing, laughing, and making the most of the nearby fields. At one point, the cows wandered close, much to the children’s delight (and mine — those unexpected moments always make for the best photos).

The speeches are often a time for a change in emotions, from laughter to happy tears. This laid-back wedding was no different. Then it was back to the happy smiles again during the first dance and evening party.

Golden Hour Goodness

As the sun dipped, we stepped out for five quiet minutes of golden hour portraits. It was the perfect breather before the evening fun kicked off — no fuss, no pressure, just Steph and Kevin soaking up the last light of their perfect day, as their guests enjoyed the fire pit to end a perfect
