When I heard that Elizabeth and Lloyd were planning a Wishaw Country Sports Barn wedding I was excited, as it was another new venue for me. I love shooting barn wedding because they all have their own rustic charms that add to a warm wedding atmosphere. Added to that, as this was a winter wedding, the intimacy of these indoor wedding images added to the the charm of this wedding.
I’d never heard of this venue before, then I found out why. This converted barn on a working farm generally only advertises by word of mouth therefore they don’t need to advertise much. Obviously their clients are their best advert as they’re obviously doing something right.
This wedding almost didn’t go ahead too. During the rehearsals the day before, everyone realised that no one had the marriage certificate! The priest thought the couple had it. The couple thought the priest was sent it by the Register Office. The Register Office were adamant they’d posted it to someone. Oops!! No certificate. No wedding!
After a frantic visit to the Register Office the morning of the wedding to sort out the problem, the Register Office found the lost certificate in their draw, when it should have been posted weeks earlier!! As a result the wedding could go ahead as planned. Phew! Disaster averted!!
Once the day got under way, everyone started to relax knowing that the day only can get better. Although the day started of dry and progressed to heavy rain, nobody was unduly bothered. The beautiful, intimate indoor surroundings of the Wishaw Country Sports Barn wedding venue made up for it.
During the wedding prep photos, I found out that Elizabeth, who is an actress has appeared in amongst other shows, Game of Thrones. Don’t cheat, but as you look through the wedding highlights below, test your knowledge to see if you can recognise her and which character she played.
