Their Asian Wedding Celebration

Sunny and Manisha chose the Red Saloon at Ragley for their early morning civil ceremony followed by the famous and stunning Great Hall for their Hindu ceremony in the afternoon at Ragley Hall Hotel.

Then they went to St. John’s Hotel in Solihull for their wedding reception.

Although the day started off wet, no one complained but carried on regardless, as it way their wedding day and what could dampen their spirits when they have each other!! They day seemed to reward them as it dried up nicely for the rest of the day and evening.

There’s a lot more to their story but I’ll let them tell it in their own words.

BEFORE THEIR INDIAN WEDDING

How You Met:
We met in 2006 at the University of Sheffield where we were both studying.

How He Proposed:
I had gone on a girls trip to Las Vegas to celebrate my mum’s birthday in November 2014. Whilst we were out there, Sunny had arranged a meal at the Bellagio for us and the concierge at the hotel we were staying at gave us all the details on how to get there and for what time.

When we arrived at the restaurant, the waiter showed us to our table and asked me if I wanted to see a table out on the balcony as the views of the fountains were amazing at that time of night. I said, why not, and followed him out to a private balcony.

There I first saw a champagne bottle, then a ring box, and Sunny, waiting there patiently for me! After asking him what he was doing there (haha!), he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I of course said yes! After that, we went back to the table, tried to eat (but couldn’t) and celebrated with my mum, aunt and cousin (who all had NO idea about the proposal), as well as our two close friends who had flown over with him to help with the proposal.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT DURING THEIR INDIAN WEDDING CELEBRATION

Bride’s Answer:
There were so many wonderful moments at the wedding, and I really wish I could re-live the day again. However, one of the most memorable moments that will stick with me forever was when my brother told me my family had arranged a vintage Rolls Royce to come pick me up from home to take me to the venue – that was just awesome!

The journey to Ragley Hall with my brother and cousin was also a really special. Another memorable moment was when I walked into the Red Saloon for the civil ceremony with my dad, and as we were walking down the aisle Sunny turned around and started crying – that was a really heartfelt moment for me, and I think the whole room were in tears after that.
Groom’s Answer:
When Manisha walked down the aisle in her white wedding dress, I had no idea what she was going to be wearing, so when I saw it, it was amazing and emotional! I also enjoyed all the speeches, especially from my best men Neehil and Adam.

HONEYMOON

Dubai for 4 nights, staying at the Sofitel Downtown Dubai, and then onto the most beautiful place in the world – Gili Lankanfushi in the Maldives!
Going to the Maldives was a surprise for me, and I was only told about the second half of the trip when we arrived back at Dubai airport.

WEDDING ADVICE:

Be organised, write lists and try to get things done well in advance. As we had all three ceremonies on one day, being organised and keeping the people who were in the wedding informed about how the day was going to go was key to ensure the day went smoothly. Brief everyone who needs to be briefed! Also make sure that you focus on what you and your partner want for your special day, as it really won’t come again –  try and forget about pleasing people! And finally, after all that planning, enjoy the moment and cherish every minute!
