Frampton Court  is a beautiful Georgian stately home in the Gloucestershire countryside. Overlooks a stunning park and 50 acre lakes.

The wool Barn makes for a memorable wedding celebration,with its exclusive hire. It provides a blank canvas to put your own personality to the venue. This 16th century  Wool Barn boasts a rustic design, and intimate interior. 

Not licensed for civil ceremonies but you can create your own outdoor ceremonies while legalising the marriage elsewhere. 

There are the walled gardens at The Manor to make full use of too. With gorgeous seasonal  flowers and borders for splendid photo opportunities.

Your guests can stay at the stylish Orangery which sleeps 8. The magnificent views of the romantic woodland and parkland and ornamental canal adds to this being an ideal place to retreat to.

Anna and Sam chose this beautiful Grade 1 listed building on the Frampton Court Estate, Gloucestershire, for their cycled-themed celebrations.

I love this venue so much It’s now listed amongst my list of Best Wedding Venues in the West Midlands.

Their love of cycling shone through the day as they peppered parts of cycles throughout their decorations. A few examples included: chandeliers made out of cycle wheels, cycle logo on their stationery, a cycle wheel to hold their table plan, and parts of a cycle chain to hold together the table napkins.

So overall the whole day went ‘wheely’ well – Sorry, I couldn’t resist recycling an old pun!! 😀

The Wedding Day

This Wool Barn wedding celebration started on one of the hottest days of the year. As usual, I started with documenting the morning preps for the girls, before getting ahead of them to capture the groom’s arrival as he greeted their guests before the ceremony.

After photographing the ceremony and the usual hugs and kisses straight after the ceremony, Anna and Sam rode off together on a Rickshaw to start their Wool Barn wedding celebrations. They we’re followed by a convoy of family and friends on their bikes too.

Because I wanted to photograph the layout of the barn along with all their unique decorations, before the guests arrived, I decided on a cunning plan.

I often take those photos while the guests are milling around at the drinks reception, but because of the hot weather, I knew many would be seeking the shade of the barn early. So I planned to visit the barn early in the morning, before I photographed Anna’s preps, as I knew the decorations would be up.

This also gave me the chance to scout around the gardens areas to get a feel for where to find guests enjoying the cool shade on this glorious day. Being a documentary wedding photographer meant I could wander around looking for different stories being told as different groups of family and friends gathered enjoying each other’s company.

That’s how I approach wedding. I’m looking to tell a story by answering the who? why? what? where? when? for the day. Who’s there? Why are they there? What are they doing? Where are they doing it? and When are they doing it?

BEFORE THE WEDDING

How You Met: We met in London when we both worked in the same office for a short time. We bonded over discussing cycle routes around London!
How He Proposed: Cycle ride to one of our favourite Nature Reserves Lower Woods

WEDDING

The Bride Wore: Stella York 6118
The Groom Wore: Ted Baker Lounge Lizard Suit with a tie Anna had made to match her dress.
Jewellery/Accessories: Anna wore her Mum’s watch and Sam wore his Great-Grandfather’s pocket watch.
Hair/Make-up Done: Evissa Bespoke Hairdressing, Anna and the Bridesmaids did their own make up.
Flowers: Homegrown Sweetpeas
Invitations: Designed ourselves and printed on Ellie Poo Paper at KM Reprographics

Unique Details: Anna made all of the napkin rings made out of old bicycle chains. Our friends served tea and cake before the wedding. Sam cycled Anna in a rickshaw from the Church to the Barn and some of our friends and family followed on bicycles.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT

Anna’s Answer: That’s a difficult one! There are lots, but if I had to pick I would say chatting to Sam after I had walked down the aisle and also seeing he was wearing the tie I made him.

WEDDING ADVICE

The best piece of advice we had was from our friend and wedding caterer Linda, who said “if anything goes wrong don’t let it ruin your day”. We would definitely echo this! Just relax, everything will be fine!
